Era of Recruitment Automation: ATS System in China

ATS is short for application tracking system. It will take care of the entire process from generating a recruiting plan to on boarding. This advanced system has suddenly entered a boom in recent years in China.

Due to China's population, advanced technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence are most widely used in the ATS of many Fortune 500 and unicorn companies. It helps companies to improve recruitment efficiency and effectiveness, reduce costs, improve employer brand, and accelerate the self-growth of recruitment teams in the long term.

There are plenty of benefits involved in adopting AI powered ATS. Big data and machine learning will build different models for different positions. Compared with the traditional key word technology, big data and machine learning will increase the efficiency of screening unqualified job applicants by a multiple. Secondly, it helps to match candidates with the most suitable position. Finally, by using NLP (Natural language processing) technology, the mockup interview become a way to reduce the workload of interviewers.

When the CV is submitted by job seekers, the ATS will use the built-in AI system to screen out qualified candidates, and automatically send rejection letters to job applicants who do not meet the requirements, which will make HR’s life easier. Consequently, HR is now able to focus on qualified interviewers.

Subsequently, the ATS will begin to use built-in big data models to automatically label the user's CV based on their academic qualifications and skills for secondary screening by HR and hiring managers. If it meets the requirements, the ATS will automatically issue interview invitation and users and interviewers can choose a suitable interview time without manual intervention.

After that, the NLP technology helps HR and hiring managers to conduct the interviews. The interviewer will be able to select appropriate questions from the question/problem database in the ATS for job seekers to answer. The answer of the job seeker will be evaluated by the NLP system without manual intervention, which can greatly improve the level of fairness and avoid the influence of age, appearance, and race.

In summary, ATS robots and digital footprints are playing a very important role in China, and we believe it will lead to an era of recruitment automation.
